Epithalon (Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) derived from the natural peptide Epithalamin, isolated from the pineal gland. It is one of the most studied peptides in aging and longevity research.
Epithalon has been extensively investigated for its ability to activate telomerase (hTERT), the enzyme responsible for elongating telomeres — the protective caps on chromosomes that shorten with each cell division. Research has documented its effects on melatonin production, circadian rhythm regulation, and modulation of antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase. Studies in aged animal models have reported restoration of immune function, neuroendocrine balance, and extended lifespan. For laboratory research use only.
