KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It retains the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties of the full α-MSH peptide while being significantly more stable and easier to synthesize.
Research Overview
KPV exerts its effects primarily through melanocortin receptors MC1R and MC3R, independently of ACTH signaling. Research has explored its potent anti-inflammatory activity in intestinal inflammation models (colitis, IBD pathways), topical wound healing applications, and skin biology studies.
